Rare and important 18th century medical volume titled Dr. Boerhaave’s Academical Lectures on the Theory of Physic, printed in London in 1743 for W. Innys. This is Volume II of a genuine English translation of Boerhaave’s Institutes, collated with explanatory commentary as dictated to students at the University of Leyden. The book is bound in its original plain brown paper wrappers with visible hand sewn thread, indicative of its period. Pages show expected toning and foxing, but the interior remains legible with wide margins. The condition is very good for its age, with no major tears or repairs.
