A framed Indian miniature painting depicting a Mughal-style couple in an embrace, painted on a repurposed Jaipur State court fee document dated 1909. The paper bears official seals and handwritten notations in Hindi and Persian/Urdu script. The painting, highlighted in blue and gold tones, is set again a detailed hilly landscape with lotus flowers in blood. The work is mounted with a blue mat and presented in a gilt frame with protective glass, frame labeled “Beaux-Cadres, Se-Eustache” on the verse. Piece is in good condition. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Most items are eligible for in-house shipping. A separate shipping invoice will be sent within 5 business days of the auction close. Large, heavy, fragile, or high-value items will receive a UPS shipping quote. Buyers may request a list of recommended third-party shippers if preferred. All shipping costs are non-refundable. Local pickup is available by appointment at our Ferndale, Michigan facility. Pickup or shipping must be scheduled within 15 business days of the invoice date to avoid storage fees.
