Hand-carved wolf sculpture by Inuk artist John Taylor of Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories. The piece is carved from a white stone, likely alabaster, with natural translucency and subtle veining, and depicts a standing wolf poised on an uneven ground surface. The sculpture has a softly modeled snout, ears, and tail. The base is signed, and the set includes the original Government of Canada Inuit art authentication card, identifying the artist, community and subject. Sculpture is in good condition.  | Please see photos for additional details.  | ABOUT THE ARTIST: John Taylor, born in 1990 in Tuktoyaktuk (Tuktuuyaqtuuq), Northwest Territories, is an Inuit carver from the Inuvialuit Settlement Region of Canada. He grew up surrounded by carving, learning the craft from his family, who have passed the skill down through several generations. Taylor’s sculptures often depict Arctic wildlife—such as polar bears, whales, and caribou—reflecting his deep connection to the land and animals of his home.  | Dimensions: 10.25 x 4.25 x 8.25 inWeight: 7.4 lbsShelf: 15F
