Carved from Canadian Arctic soapstone, this sculpture by Olivier de France depicts a kneeling nude figure with head bowed and one hand resting against the face. Executed approximately 50 years ago, the work shows a contrast of smooth polished surfaces and textured carved hair. The base shows tool marks and wear from carving. Sculpture is in good condition with surface scratches, natural inclusions, and scattered small abrasions consistent with age and handling.
