19th century English School sporting painting depicting a hare coursing scene, with two hounds in active pursuit across an open landscape while mounted riders follow along a distant path. The work is executed in oil on panel and is presented in a richly ornamented gilt wood frame. The reverse bears a handwritten inscription reading “S. Spode” followed by “18.50.” The back also retains a label from Wakefield-Scearce Galleries. The painting exhibits age-appropriate surface wear, craquelure, and handling marks to both the panel and frame.
