19th Century English Sterling Silver Verge Fusee Pocket Watch, D.H. Maker, 1832

Early 19th century English verge fusee pocket watch housed in a sterling silver case. The white enamel dial features black Roman numerals, a subsidiary second dial, and gold spade-style hands. The case back displays a hand-engraved cartouche surrounded by intricate engine-turned decoration. Inside the case are clear English sterling silver hallmarks, including the lion passant for silver purity, the Birmingham assay mark, and the date letter “r” corresponding to 1832. The case maker’s initials “DH” are also present. Watch features light surface wear and tarnish consistent with age. Dial shows minor hairlines and spotting. Please see photos for additional details.
