The piece is carved from white stone, likely marble or calcite, and is signed “Bart Hanna / Iglulik” on the underside. Sculpture retains its original early Igloo Tag (circa 1970s to 1980s) on the underside, certifying it as authentic Inuit art. He began carving as a child, learning from his father, and later developed his skills while recovering from illness in Ontario, where he met and worked with other Inuit artists.
