Carved serpentine sculpture of a reclining seal by Clivelon Totan. The stone is a mottled green with darker veining and a soft semi-polish finish. The sculpture is signed on the underside “C. Totan ‘Seal'” and dated “02.” Sculpture is in good condition with light surface wear and a small patch of white residue near the tail. Please see photos for additional details. About the Artist: Clivelon Totan (1979 - 2018) was an Inuit carver from Igloolik, Nunavut, known for soapstone inukshuks and animal figures, often signed in Roman and syllabics.
