Oil on canvas interior scene depicting a Victorian parlor. A young woman at the piano holds sheet music, while a seated lady and a gentleman in formal attire engage in quiet conversation. The work is presented in an ornated giltwood frame with period wear. The reverse bears a Newman, London canvas stamp and an old label from The W.T. Burger Co. identifying the title “Sunday Evening.” Painting is in good condition with some areas of craquelure consistent with age. The gilt frame shows expected wear and small losses at the corners. Please see photos for additional details.
