Block Auction House presents an Important Winter Estates Auction highlighted by material from the Congressional career of Rosa L. Parks. The archive includes official State of Michigan appointment documents and U.S. House of Representatives earnings statements documenting Parks’ professional life in Detroit following her leadership in the Civil Rights Movement.
Offered during Black History Month, the sale features African and African American works of cultural and historical importance alongside global ethnographic material.
A major highlight is a 1966 Gibson ES-335TD semi-hollow electric guitar produced in Kalamazoo, Michigan, retaining its original pickups and finish. Also featured are detailed handcrafted ship models by noted builder Otto J. Kirchner.
Additional offerings include estate jewelry, fine art, decorative arts, antique furniture, designer accessories, and property from multiple Michigan estates.
